A FavIcon is a great little identifier for your site. (A FavIcon is the little icon you see in your Bookmarks/Favorites menu and in the address bar of your browser—as in the screenshot at the right.) An easy way to create one is with FavIcon from Pics, a free tool that converts any picture into a FavIcon. You can use their tool through the form below.

After creating your FavIcon, you’ll want to integrate it with your site. Download the the .zip file and extract to get at the icon. Upload the favicon.ico file to web site’s root. Add the following HTML to your templates between the <head></head< tag:

<link rel="shortcut icon" href="/favicon.ico" />

Don’t forget to save and rebuild the templates. You can check to see that the icon is working by simply visiting your site. Refereshing the page or restarting your browser might be necessary.
