A restaurateur convention. We even got a free lunch!
Last week I was in New York City for the Hackathon and Executive Summit. It was a chance to meet some “movers and shakers” in the Movable Type community and see some of the work others had done, especially in the big-business world.
The Hackathon was an informal gathering of ProNet members and Six Aparters; many of the people who write the plugins that everyone uses every day were there. (Byrne has published a list of who accomplished what. Good stuff!) The Executive Summit included several interesting presentations about blog and MT deployment and success stories.
Elise has posted some of the photos she took, too. Related: I tried to interview several people there when it seemed they had some downtime. I was really hoping to do many more than I did, but time went by too quickly. The first interview: Jesse and Chad.

It was great to finally meet you, Dan! It was great to see the pics, although I think something is wrong with your camera. It seemed to make all of us look much “thicker” than we actually are. Perhaps there’s some warping of the lens or something… ;-)
Yeah, and everyone else is working hard - and I’m eating donuts. Nice…
Something must be wrong with my camera too. Either that or it was the thin mints.

The weight, the donut, the expression… I Photoshopped all of those in. You guys were all just so superhuman that I had to do something to make you seem accessible to us common men!
Yeah, what’s the deal with those photos?! It actually looks like I was accomplishing things (which we all know isn’t true).

Sounds like fun - I’ve been a fan of SixApart for a long time. I just wish I lived closer to NY.
