Stop Producing TrackBack XML Files

If you use TrackBack much, you might have noticed that in your local_site_path are [TrackBack number].xml files, such as 4.xml or 396.xml. I don’t need these clogging up the works. Maybe I’m just dumb and missed this when originally reading…
If you use TrackBack much, you might have noticed that in your local_site_path are [TrackBack number].xml files, such as 4.xml or 396.xml. I don’t need these clogging up the works.
Maybe I’m just dumb and missed this when originally reading the documentation, but I didn’t see how to turn them off. It’s pretty easy, though: about 3/4 of the way through mt.cfg find the line # GenerateTrackBackRSS 0. Uncomment it (remove the # sign) and save. Those little XML files won’t be produced anymore.
You can delete all those little files, too. The only thing you’d need them for is if you want people to be able to read the TrackBacks with an RSS reader.
